The F.O.C.C. fundraising project is our newest and fastest growing fundraising effort. The members of the CC Lions Club will provide an American Flag and pole that we will place in a subscriber's yard for each Patriotic Holiday: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day and Veterans Day.
This fun and exciting fundraising project has been in place for over 20 years. In cooperation with the Northeast Iowa Regional Airport, the Lions Club hosts a Sunday morning All-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast. Pilots from all over the midwest fly-in, join us for a hearty breakfast and will take some patrons for a plane ride around beautiful Floyd County.
Since 1961, the Charles City Lions Club has held a book sale of donated books from the community and surrounding areas. We generally have 40,000 to 50,000 books available for sale.
The Charles City Lions Club, in cooperation with Tynan's Recycling, hold a 'Scrap Metal Drive' annually in late Spring. If it is made of metal, we will take it and make sure it is recycled instead of ending up in a landfill.
The Charles City Lions Club rents round tables and white chairs for large functions. There are enough tables and chairs to seat 150 people. The equipment is stored in a 14 foot trailer and can be delivered, if needed.
